Well it sounds like we've about converged on a solution:

-Doesn't necessarily need to be Core Members only, but a post count of somewhere between 50-100 is required
-A photo of the stuff for sale/trade is required, and the person's name on a piece of paper must be included in the photo
-PayPal is the recommended method of payment, any other payment is done between the parties at their own risk and liability
-PureOC is not responsible for loss of product(s), payments, or any other falsehoods or misrepresentation arising from the transaction

    That about cover it?

    I think we're getting there.
Skyguy, have you find out how to setup the automatic post count yet?
When a member reached the minium number of post then he/she automatic can access the Buy&Sale forum. If we can get it works automaticly then we don't have to do it manualy for each member in the Admin's control panel. Must less hassels for Admin.

When everything ironed out, make sure you post the rules&regulations clearly visible in Buy&Sale forum.

There has to be some kind of an agreement to return money or the product being sold of traded. You guys have to cover your ass. You can ask Deton what happened to a friend of mine last week when he bought two water cooled X2s on ebay, They were damaged to the point where they cannot be repaired, and the girl knew this when she sold them, but she did not tell him. Deton saw the photos. which were nothing like the photos she showed him for the sale. Thats $900 he is fighting for with Pay Pal. The items being sold or traded should also include that days date on either the photo, or the paper with their name. Photos should include shots from top, botom and sides, so you can see if there is any damage to the item being sold.

Well, no matter how precaution you are taken if the seller want to screw you then you are still out of luck. Basicly, buyer beware of what they are buying of the net.

There has to be some kind of an agreement to return money or the product being sold of traded.
PUREOC don't want to get involve in the financial transaction here, I'm sure you don't want to stick your head out for this Doc D.

I'm sure if you setup your Paypal account by using your credit card account, if you sense something go wrong and Paypal can resolve the problem then call up your credit card company and tell them to reverse the credit from Paypal. The credit card company will protecting you not the Paypal. So don't setup Paypal to withdraw your money from your bank account.

just another thought to throw out there, we can have a "trusted seller" seal or something kind of like Ebay so people who want to buy can know who is trusted.

Now that's a good idea ! The trusted sellers award should go to sellers with at least 2-4 good sales, that way people would know who to trust, and each member would be able to work there way up to getting the award. Maybe another idea would be buyers feedback, that would help sellers that are just starting out. that have sold at least 1-2 items. All we would need for that is a trade / sell feedback post.

maybe you can implement a new bar like the points and activity bar to show satisfaction from the buyers

OR make it text like the Thanking feature, so a buyer can give a "successful buy" instead of thanks, or something along those lines

That's why I suggested a Trade / Sell feedback section, buyers can check the rep of the seller there. Each time some one buys something and receives it, they can leave feedback on the seller.

possibly, we can have something like when someone uses multiple accounts, it gives that little alert to see if its a spammer, maybe you can make it so when someone posts in the buy/sell section a post goes up for them automatically in the feedback section, so all their feedback will be in one post instead of multiple ones

then maybe with cooperation, they can have a seller seal thing in their signature that links to their feedback

I think you need to add the multiple accounts to the rules, anyone with more than one account cannot take part in the trade / sell section, or something along that line. As far as spammers, we just have to keep watching for them and ban them. Maybe the last rule should be that all feedback has to be left in one section, that way there's no multiple feedback.

You would have to talk to Jake about adding a link to the seal in a signature that would take you to that sellers feedback. If we have a feedback section, it would be very easy to check each sellers rep, so we would not need to add anything to a members signature. I'm sure we will come up with something that will make everyone happy.

ok edited previous post. Now for feedback you could do additional stats in user control panel . I've seen similar solutions on other Vbulietin forums ie.

noo I'm sending money over the western union to my parents and i can say one thing : its a rip off on fees they charge you. I know you can have the money straight away but is it worth it??
