    Default PureOC Folding Team?

Well my question is does anyone here still fold for PureOC? Ive looked at the stats page and it shows 0 active CPU's in the past 50 days,Can this be right?
I was think of joining up as i just fold for my own team but if its dead here than ill just stay where i am. I produce about 1 million points and 700-1000 WU a month.
    Heres my stats:
Missouri Overclockers - Team Summary - EXTREME Overclocking Folding @ Home Stats
    Team 216405's contributions to Folding@home

Hi James, Mike [Grumpydaddy] is in charge of folding, I would suggest sending Mike a PM, and talking to him,he's a really great guy.

Late to the party as usual....

Everybody who ever folded here has given up or moved on. I count myself among those who moved away from Folding @ Home but I have not given up on distributed computing.

The reason I stopped was that my 9800 gx2's all died one by one so even without the electricity costs it became too expensive to keep it up.

I now run World Community Grid where I get a greater choice of the type of project that I support so, for me at least, this is a better fit. Seems a little less destructive on the hardware too although I have killed 2 MB's and a cpu .

I have considered a WCG team here but to be honest there seems to be little love for distributed computing even the original way which was to run it in the background when your PC use is light.

If you feel that you would like to drum up a little support for this team I would happily hand over the reins.

Want to chat on the subject? then PM me or just post up here.

Better late than never and Welcome No need to chat in pm's maybe this will get a lil attention?!?! Yeah i hear you on the expense my wife was just ****** at me the other day hahaha! WCG is another wonderful project,we all have to choose which is best for ourselves and the cause we think is the best.
Ive had a few members of my family affected by alzheimer's so that why ive chose folding.Kill the computer parts i say...they will be obsolete in 1-2 years anyways lol. I would love to see more support for the team and people folding but i just wouldnt know where to start or what to do. Maybe a contest of some sorts, since no one seems to want to buy my mobo and cpu i could offer that up for a prize. Just thinking out loud here. What do you think? Hell what does anyone think?
Ill switch all my clients over to PureOC tonight when i get home!

Count me in for a POC World Community Grid team. If we are not actively folding, let's try WCG. It is an easy to setup and run, and it works on worthy medical & environmental causes. See the link in my sig for more info. We could run a hardware giveaway among team members (like I do on my other favorite forum) but that pulls from the excess hardware of the 100+ team members...

WCG is cpu only, although a gpu beta is in the works. Go to the wcg website (link in my sig) and download the app. You will have to "join," very simple. If we could get 5 or 10 members to run the app for 30 days to start... We could form a POC WCG team and track stats ( I need help with that).

Let's start small. 5 members, I'll be one. Install and run the app. Report in this thread on install & crunching progress. Go to World Community Grid - Home, click "join today," fill out name & password info, select your projects, download the app, install & run. Comments, questions, and updates in this thread. We've got enough computing power here to climb the team charts quickly. Let's do this

    Sounds like a Plan (

I will try to put something together in terms of a how-to this weekend

Not sure who will give this a go but at least knowing how would be one hurdle crossed.

That would be something that you could do too James....An up to date how to for F@H?

Thanks for the support Doc. So Grumpy, is folding officially not active here? I don't want to step on anybody's toes or interfere with team folding for a good cause that is still going... If we (as in the POC team) want to move forward with WCG I can help with the efforts. Thanks

I run FaH on the ps3 and an dual opteron server I have stashed at work. Its been running non stop for 50 days. The PS3 is hit and miss. I was running FaH at 100% when my PC blew up. Wonder if that haf anything to do with it. I also am running FaH under another team. I was considering switching to Pure OC but I say it was pretty dead in that thread.

Anyways . I will still continue to run FaH on some kind of a device because I feel I am contributing to a good cause. My wife has a lot opf medical issue so i want to do whatever I can to help.

I will join in this World Community Grid under the Pure OC banner using this PC or the server. Just let me know when you are ready to go.

And then there were 2. I will figure out how to set up a team under WCG. It's probably really easy, I just need to look at it. On vacation now, but will get to it in the next day or two. Thanks for your contribution.
