Thanks, I hope so as well. I was super stoked to have won it, then really aggravated to find it was in the condition it was and still is.

On a positive note, I'm now able to use my 22" Proview LCD monitor once more, as I just today was able to finally replace the caps on the power supply board. I'm using it right this second, actually, and boy howdy did I ever miss it! 1680x1050 resolution, superior clarity and colors, superior backlighting, etc. I'm not missing my mother's generic monitor right now, lemme tell ya, lol! Since I had to solder it, and I'm a soldering noob, I'll be forever keeping a keen eye on this one though. Worth it though, just want to be extra cautious for obvious reasons.

So I spoke with the marketing rep, regarding my guitar situation, and the potential outcome looks promising so far. According to her:

    "Hello, Ronald ~

Monster is checking into getting another guitar for you. It may or may not be signed."

Here's hoping that they can and will pull through, and hopefully I'll get to keep both guitars if they do get another for me.

On a side note, I'm a little annoyed with my recently-purchased WD Red 3TB. I've already had to run a Check Disk on it, and for the life of me I cannot figure out why. There was a folder that apparently was corrupted, and it fixed it (was a very FAST run too), but now I'm buggin' cuz Idk what caused it to happen. It was fine 1 day, then not the next, but it's been a-ok ever since. I currently have it installed in my Win7 PC, that I'm currently using, but it's annoying me because I can't erase that 2TB drive and finish up the new PC until I've confirmed that the 3TB Red is all good. Thankfully, I haven't had any hardware issues with the new setup though, the only real issues being with Windows Update being stupid (to which I found out it's the same stupid problems that we've had, going all the way back to XP, with the whole WU not wanting to connect to MS servers properly or download and install updates properly). *shakes fists*

Oh, and btw, when installed w/120mm fans or fanless, the Deepcool Assassin CPU cooler will fit snugly into the Deepcool Pangu V2 SW case, but with 140mm fans you can't get the side panel on at all. It looks like another mod is to be planned for this thing, unless I get a different cooler (which I actually want a different one anyway). Grr.

Sounds like good news on the Guitar!

On the disk, have you checked the SMART data to see if the corruption was @ the disk level or the OS level? It's possible it could have been a Windows glitch, as opposed to a HD Failure. With just one folder corrupted and only once...I'd be more suspicious that Windows messed up than the HDD....SMART should be able to tell you that.

WD has a drive analysis program designed to check their drives health.

I would get it, (Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows) and run it.

Thanks guys, honestly it's been so long since I've had to even mess with those, I totally forgot how to do it, lol. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was a Windows issue, honestly, it'd be far from the first big one I've had w/Win7.

Well, I have some things to check in the BIOS, methinks. The WD tool doesn't see the SMART data as available, for either WD HDD I have installed, and for some weird reason, even though Win7 sees the 3TB drive as it is, the WD tool only sees it as that limited 746GB designation. It's the latest version, too, so Idk. Gonna do some digging.

Edit: Update March 25, 2015 - So, I found out that the nForce 7 chipset doesn't support S.M.A.R.T., but my Syba card does, so I installed it and hooked up the 3TB. Windows and the WD tool see the 3TB properly now, 100%, and the S.M.A.R.T. data says it's all a-ok, no issues. Thankfully, it appears it was a Windows fluke. No big deal though, thankfully, at least I can now proceed to getting the 2TB done up with the new PC. Now that I'm thinking about it though, I suppose it'd be a good idea to check as many of my HDDs as I can, to see what their S.M.A.R.T. data says. Hopefully within the next week and a half, I'll be sittin' at my new PC w/out any issues, and my son at his w/out any as well.
