Hello everyone, Father's Day provided me with a couple of "firsts" this year. I got a new Sapphire R9 380 4GB and ASUS's VS24A monitor. The R9 is the first part I have bought on it's release day, ever! Ordered from the Egg on Saturday, picked up from will call on Monday along with the LCD. The other "first" came after installing the card. After startup, my system recognized the card as a standered VGA device. Now, I have learned over the years that when installing a new part, except the mobo, it's best to just go the part's support page and get the current drivers needed. Sooooo, I re-installed Omega, no change, downloaded the Beta, same, swapped between the HDMI and DVI cables, same. Even though the Beta drivers didn't work, I figured, what the hell, and popped the disk in and Boom!, it's all good now. I have an Xbox 1 controller on it's way courtesy of my daughter. Here's a couple of pic's of my own little "realm".

Nice new GPU. Post some benches when you get the chance.

You'll like the looks of that IPS screen as well.

Love it already! It's nice that I can run some of my older games with "proper settings" now. With my other monitor, even with the parts that I have now, the difference is not even close. So far it's been Darksiders II, Rage 64 bit version, and Borderlands Pre-Sequal which I just got from Steam over the weekend. The biggest change is the lack of heat this monitor puts out. My old Dell could raise the temp in the room 5-10 degrees f depending on which season it is. As for the R9 380 it seems run a little on the warm side, right now my on my LCD info screen it's showing 51c and I'm just typing this response. It is too early to tell if that's going to be a problem. As you can see, things are a little cramped under the desk there, so I have a few things in mind that should improve air flow, well see. Now, I think it's time to go play something else, so if you'll excuse me, I must go!

Score! Congrats on the upgrades. I've been very impressed with my (Non-IPS) ASUS Monitors, and ended up swapping 2 Samsungs out for 3 ASUS VS247H-P's last year. Even though they're not IPS they're absolutely great. I can imagine that your new IPS kicks it up a notch. Enjoy the heck out of it!

I have a couple of 4Gb GTX-760s with the ACX cooler on them.
It's a very effective way to keep temps in line, and it looks great in your build too.

That 970 is a great card. I'd love to have a pair of them.
