Although comfort and luxury is not the top priority, you wont find a toyota dying on you though. not by normal usage and maintenance at least.

The Chinese Car market is the fastest growng market in the world. These are the mainstay of that market. As 'lil said, they are very cheap.

Those cars all have one thing in common - they suck! Regrettably I own one of them, the focus. The car only has 73K on it and the suspension is completely ruined. Driving it is like riding in a buckboard. You know what Ford stands for - Found On Road DEAD!!! LOL.

I have a '06 Toyota Tacoma and a '07 Sonata. Both have almost 80K on them and both are problem free so far. I put a OPTIMA Yellowtop battery in both of them when they were brand new to deliver good clean power to them. (sound familiar?)
The Tacoma ~still~ has the factory front and rear brakes on it. (I can hardly believe this myself) It just passed Virginia State inspection again too. They put Ceramic brakes on it at the factory.
The Sonata had one sensor go out on it, but I replaced it myself after I read the codes with my reader. I've install Ceramic Pads on it too.

My Suburban used to mow through brakes like they were made of balsa wood. It ate brake rotors too.
My Cherokee did the same thing, but I learned about Ceramic Brake Pads while I owned it, and never had to replace them again.

I'm happy with both of my cars.

No doubt, Toyota makes a quality vehicle and their trucks are actually pretty cool. This Tacoma model is really badass:



However, the Corolla and Camry are just God awful boring no matter how well they run. The rest of the cars on the list are junk all the way around.

Toyota's are on the top of my list as I've owned a few of them...
I wish I still had my 94 Camry, I've had this car since the day I started driving in 97 until 3 years ago when it was totaled by a drunk driver in front of my house.
I had 395k miles on it with the Original Tranny and Engine. 3 clutches and 3 timing belt changes and kept with all my maintinance and the car still ran like it was brand new.

I still drive my 02 Solara around - I've had this car since new with 2 miles on the OD and now has 158k miles. Still looks and drives new.
my newest car is my 05 Toyota Tundra Double Cab (lifted 5 inches with 33" tires) with 92k miles and runs like a champ.

I've owned over 10 cars in the last 15 years i've been driving most being Toyota's and Honda's
I had one Germany (BMW) and I can say it was the worst car I owned and most problematic.

I always install heavy duty pads and shoes on the Ram 4x4 they last years, in fact the pads on the front are over 3 years old.

Mine isn't all jacked up and customized. But I love it and how it drives. It's had to take me to my wife's job, over a local mountain in crappy weather and icy roads several times and it's ~very~ civilized.
