Default Battlefield 3 Crashing and Causing IE, Chrome to crash

    Hey All,

I've been having this werid system issues while playing BF3. This happen when I was using my HD 6950 and also my new GTX 580 I just installed. BF3 would crash mid game, I would be playing and 20 or 30 mins into the game and BF3 would crash, NOT BSOD but it was say Orgins and Chrome/IE has stopped working and also Chrome or IE would keep crashing and freezing.

I've done all drivers updates. Used Drive Sweeper to clean out old drivers. Temps are good as CPU does not go over 40c under load and also GPU - 6950 was at about 80c at full load and GTX 580 about 75c under load.

Ran Prime95 for 2 hours and nothing is wrong
Passes furmark at 1920x1080 stress test and doesn't go over 84c in GPU and is fine.

If only crashes when I play BF3.

I would end the task and try to reopen just chrome and it was say chrome failed to launch.
Can't figure out what's going on.

    Any Suggestions??

I was thinking of reformatting and just trying to get a fresh start on OS and see if it happens again.

If you have hardware accelleration turned on in Chrome, try turning it off.
I don't have Chrome, but I had some odd issues with Firefox+other graphics tasks that went away when I turned hardware accelleration off.
I never really confirmed it, but it seemed to happen more often when the bloated sloppy pig known as Adobe Flash was involved.

Does it do it if you disconnect your LAN cable?

it does it while I am playing online, Multiplayer. Also I have no Acclerations turned on in Chrome.
BF3 doesn't use steam. It uses Origins and it logs me off origins also.

Yea, I've searched and troubleshooted some items that BF3 recommended and still no dice.
I've updated orgins, Battlelog plug in, GPU Drivers, MB Driver and even my Keyboard and mouse drivers.. and still have the same problem.

As of right now I am just running out of solutions other then format fresh drive and reinstalling everything.. Lucky this is on my gaming rig so I don't have much on this PC but still takes allot of time for me to set everything up the way I like it..

That might be the way to go since on a separate gaming rig.

Depending how much trouble you went to with alot of games, Mods, ect
And saving all them to re-install to clean system might hold the problem embedded with them.
Would do a clean games install after reload.

See that Their trying to get Steam as opposed to Origin set up for BF series.

This might be a stupid idea or maybe you already tried it, but have you uninstalled and reinstalled BF3. I had (and sometimes still have) a similar problem with BF2 after the latest update. I fixed it by doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game. Lost my game saves, but oh well. Better than a completely reinstalling the OS and whatnot.

Yea I would try re installing BF3 first, that would eliminate BF3 as the problem. Then Chrome and other involved programs until it stopped, also have you tried not running IE or Chrome at the same time as BF3?

Like stated, don't have any of the BF series.

But ones I have have done clean installs with them without problems.

As to saved games, Believe you can make a folder to put them in Externally, But like said maybe problems with

I did once before, but was before updating all the drivers. maybe I should uninstall and reinstall once more before I do a complete format.

So last night I went into uninstalled and reinstalling BF3 and still have the same problem. I used Driver Sweeper to Uninstall all the updates I had done on the drivers and reinstalled a new set of drivers for GPU, MB and even my SSD drivers, Unisntalled Chrome and reinstalled and same problem still exist. I am at a lost of what is causing this.

    Man this is fustrating

Do you have the Disc's for BF-3 or is it a D/L thru Origin?

That sucks. My guess is reinstalling the OS will not solve the problem. Have you checked on the BF3 forums to see if anyone else is reporting similar issues and, if so, whether they found a solution?
