    Default Amazon Email Scam

    Hi Guys

I know we have members with Amazon accounts, so I wanted to alert you to the latest email scam, if you receive on of these emails, do NOT click on anything in the email, or give them any kind of information.
Amazon says if you received an email like this to delete it right away and run a virus and spyware scan. If you clicked on anything in the email, you need to change your Amazon Account Password right away.

I received one yesterday, took a screenshot deleted the email, and reported it to Amazon, first hint should be the wrong shipping information.

Glad I don't order from Amazon. They are local to me so I'd have to pay sales tax. Defeats the whole purpose of ordering on line if you have to pay taxes.

I rather order on newegg if I am going to pay tax.. at least I can do will call and pick up the item instead of waiting for shipping.. They are local to my work (20 mins away).

Good information, makes me wonder if it is a random 'spam' of some email list, or if they actually got a list of 'real' amazon account holder emails?

When I talked to Amazon, they said a lot of their members had received the same email, so it make's you wonder if they have been compromised in some why, seeing as more than one person received the email.

    Default Re: Amazon Email Scam

Someone got their hands on an email list. If you saw the schmucks that work for Amazon here is Seattle, you'd know that one of those little punks would sell a list for sure to a hacker/spammer. By and large, the Amazon workers are rude little pricks that make downtown a miserable place to be when the storm out of the offices at lunch time. The stupid ****s do spend money though so it helps the economy (unless you are a server because they don't tip at all).
