Why you think EK is bad, because they had a bad year?

    Koolance....because of Korean company?
If that's the case then you left out Swiftech.
DD: Built in a shed, yes. And what they don't build, they rebadge, or import from China.

EK: Bad couple of years actually. As recently as two years ago I would have recommended them. The plating and tooling issues left a bad taste. Moreover because they just don't seem to care anymore, snubb the customer. And the current generation of products all look like ass.

Koolance & Swiftech: Swiftech is made in China, not Korea. They produce cheap parts, and sell them cheaply. I'm fine with that. Koolance produces cheaply-made parts and sells them at a premium. I'm against smearing howler monkey dung on my neck and calling it a fine cologne.

I know Swiftech manufacture their stuff in China. I was wondering why you left them out since their stuffs are not Porshe or Ferrari either.
If you think EK standard is lower than before, then let think for a moment. You in the business to make money get rich, if the bottom line is not growing then you have to find a way to fix that.

I'm going to use Swiftech and XSPC as an example here. Swiftech is US company and XSPC is UK, both manufacture their products in China. Why?
Because they can cut down their production cost which now you can make more profit. And if you target the mainstream instead of highend consumers, you will make more profit. Quantity vs Quality here.

If you call your business as a hobby like DD does then you won't last in the game.

As for EK, I personal haven't any bad experience with them yet, and as for the new simplicity design is also a way to cut the production cost down.

Bill you do a lot of different things, not just sell parts, which helps you grow and people appreciate things like that, It's to bad you couldn't have bought everything they had left before the sale started.

I hadn't even mentioned China, so obviously I didn't mention Swiftech.

The thing with Swiftech and XSPC is this: They make Ford Escorts, and sell them at Ford Escort prices. I can't find any fault in that.

If I had to pick a company who manufactures in China, I'd go with the gutless Amway shills that are "Phobya" -- the faceless Wal*Mart of the watercooling world.

If you think EK standard is lower than before, then let think for a moment. You in the business to make money get rich, if the bottom line is not growing then you have to find a way to fix that.
So you're saying that, if you can't make a product that wins over a majority market, you cut down quality and production costs of the feeble parts you already offer? Homogenization, yay. Don't forget to dull the edges so the clueless don't cut themselves, and put gigantic labels on everything so they don't try to feed it to their infants.

Because they can cut down their production cost which now you can make more profit. And if you target the mainstream instead of highend consumers, you will make more profit. Quantity vs Quality here.
    No issue here.

As for EK, I personal haven't any bad experience with them yet, and as for the new simplicity design is also a way to cut the production cost down.
A hobby is not a business. An electrician who crafts handmade chairs on the weekend isn't in it for the money; he's in it for the art and self-gratification. It isn't until you devote yourself to something fulltime that it becomes a business.

You didn't see the point, EK manufacture in Slovenia. No other part of the world has cheaper labour force like in the Asia.
EK has very fancy packaging compare to their competitors, even Aquacomputer doesn't have fancy packages for their highend products.
Don't be surprise to EK will cut back on the packaging or ship the manufacturing to China soon.
