Does anyone use LiPo batteries in an RC car? If so do you know if two 2s LiPo batteries connected in either series or parallel (not sure which, thus why I am asking) would act as a single 4s battery?

I'm think of getting a new brushless motor for my E-Revo and would use LiPo batteries with it but the E-Revo has two battery compartments on each side and I'm not sure if I could use two batteries with the new controller I would get with the motor, using one battery would seem to make it kinda lop-sided. Also the 4s batteries wont fit in the compartments so I could put 2 2s batteries instead. I wouldn't experiment with this because if it didn't work i would've just wasted a good 400 on 2 2s batteries and it could burst into a nice big ball of flames...

take the old batteries and measure the voltage if you can because I am not sure what the term 2s and 4s mean here but from a quick check a 2s cell is one pair of cells in series so 2 * 3.7v = 7.4v. a 4s cell is 4 cells in series = 14.8v.
If the motor is designed to run using a 4s battery pack then you will need the 2 * 2s packs installed either side but you must make sure that the cells on one side are wired in series with those on the other side.
conversely if the motor is designed to run on 7.4 volts then you must ensure the packs are wired in parallel.
Take a read of this: Understanding RC LiPo Batteries
I may be able to help if you get stuck

Thats exactly it thanks! I actually found out that 2s means 2 series. Tanks, this is what I'll probably do then. Just don't want a fire >.>
