You have nothing to worry about as long as you are not flashing and trying to acheive some silly overclocking record. You are just checking and adjusting you memory speeds.

Worse case is it will nto boot. You hit bios clr and then your fine. A lot of the good boards will recover even if you dont do anything at all. Mine will fix itself, tell me what i did wrong and reset everything to defaults. No worries

Am I the only one that thinks overclocking world records mean less than nothing?

Yea Ln2 is impressive but no one can run a computer like that 24/7 so what the point? Also the current world record 8.8GHz would almost certainly benchmark lower than my CPU at stock clocks.

Obviously I know it's 1600 but since it's at stock BIOS settings it runs at 1333.

the performance at 1333 and 1600 make a miner performance increase.. not allot to really "worry" about, but if he has 1600MHz speed, might as well put it into use.
But if he doesn't know how to do it, then its not going to hurt anything if he doesn't change it..

But, the 1600MHz speed will give you a slight increase if you adjust it to match what the memory is rated at.

Well I know atleast for me knowing that its slower would make me feel like its really slower, the placebo effect is great isn't it?
