I know what you mean, I've only been part of the family for a couple months. Now I know how a little kid feels like being stuck in the middle of a divorce.

Nice to be loved around here fellas!

I have a few comments, if I may........

For those of you who have been here a LONG time, you'll remember when Stan and I took over PureOC from Jamieson quite awhile ago. There was change, for the better, and Stan and I built PureOC into what most of you know it to be. And we did that for quite awhile, made changes and improvements, and built up a positive and welcoming atmosphere here. PureOC got very busy (a good thing!) but it got to the point where we simply couldn't do it all ourselves; it became too much. We realized this, and also saw that PureOC deserved strong support and attention in order to continue that drive. We couldn't do that. I certainly couldn't; for those of you who have been around awhile, you guys know I have a VERY busy life outside of PureOC. I couldn't give PureOC the time it deserved, and by extension, the time that all of you deserved. So we sold PureOC quite some time ago (this is no secret) and I personally started to step back from running things with Stan, to focus on other aspects of my life that demanded my time and energy.

So none of that should come as a surprise. I did not "leave", I have not "left". I am still here, but in a different capacity. I focus on reviews, I keep an eye on the forums, but I'm not around as regularly as I used to be. I still edit reviews as needed. But the difference now is there are other people to help fill in the void, as part of the team, not just Stan and I. Personally, I think it's the sign of a good leader to make himself ultimately expendable on a team, otherwise the team falls apart. And I think that's a good thing here; there are other guys who do reviews, and all of you keep the forums alive. We built up PureOC to be a cool place, away from the immature crap that often permeates the Web, and I see that continues here, whether I'm signed in or not. And that is a good thing.

I can't speak for Stan, but if/when Stan leaves, the goal is to keep PureOC chugging along as we both had hoped. Will there be change? Sure, there's always change out there everyday. Some good? Sure. Some not so good? Perhaps. But change is not a bad thing in and of itself; it can be a strong tool to achieve new goals.

I would caution anyone from jumping to conclusions, to avoid kneejerk reactions, to ask yourself: why are you here? Is it because of Stan and I? If so, then why are you all still here after we sold the site? Why are you still here after I stepped back from some of my responsibilities? You haven't left. Why not? Because PureOC doesn't hinge on one single person regardless of what you may think or what someone may say. It's a simple fact, really. We're a team, a family of sorts (as corny as that sounds LOL).

Have the site owners emailed you and said directly that your services are no longer needed or wanted? Have I emailed you and said get out? No? Then I would recommend focusing on avoiding rumors and innuendo, and instead focus on facts. Do you want to be here? Then stay here. Do you want to leave? Then leave. But do it for the right reasons, not because someone else is doing something, or because someone told you their opinion without both sides of the factual story.

This very post proves my point. I'm still here, I'm still working on reviews, I'm still saying Great Work! If you choose not to believe me or listen to me, after all the time I've been here and after all I've done, then so be it. But I'd like to think that I've earned the right to have a bit of say in those things around here.

Relax. Take a breath. Hit the reset button and reboot fellas. The sky is not falling, the world is not ending. Things change, people move on, new people come along, we learn new things from each other, and life goes on. So it has been, so it will be with PureOC.

    Jake,

Thank you for your input on this.
What Jake has said in his post is pretty spot on.

I got the email also, but it didn't prompt me to jump to any conclusions, which is why I haven't posted here until now.
Allot of things have been changing in the "background" that you all don't see or you may have seen.

But as Staff of PureOC, we have seen those changes over the last year and the transition hasn't effected the members since its all done as we like to call it "behind the scenes".
Most of the changes we have seen over the last year I have been here has been for the better of PureOC..
But I am sure if Stan is leaving, he has his reasons and it was his choice. No one here is forced to ever do anything they don't want to do.

I haven't been around here lately, not because of this, but I have been busy with my own personal life.
Sometimes we all just have to step away and deal with our life outside of forums and when time permits we jump back into thing and back in full swing.

As for now, let's not start any negative comments or assumptions like Jake mentioned and lets see how things play out during this change.

Got the email from Stan.. Yes, things are serious as they seem. Don't let anyone gloss over it. After the site sold last year we all know Stan is the backbone of PureOC.. talking to manufacturers securing samples, organizing giveaways etc. Who here has contacts like that?
