Default Volkswagen’s New 300 MPG Car Not Allowed In America fact or fiction

interesting read but the author offers no data to back his claims

ou won’t find the 300 MPG Volkswagen XL1 in an American showroom, in fact it has even been denied a tour of America because it is too efficient for the American public to be made widely aware of, and oil profits are too high in America with the status quo in place. No tour has been allowed for this car because the myth that 50 mpg is virtually impossible to obtain from even a stripped down econobox is too profitable to let go of, and when it comes to corporate oil profits, ignorance is bliss.

Too bad that guy is only telling bits and pieces of the story. It isnt aboved for america because VW never intended for it to be. It was never a full production model car. I googled it and read multiple stories and only this jerk off claims it is over oil companies and conspiracies. It is a limited edition research car. Make some sell some to cover some of the cost of research into the technology.

It WAS also allowed on America roads during a tour which this writer claims didnt happen. See here We Drove The 261 MPG Volkswagen XL1 In Manhattan Because You Can't And a few more sites that drove it around in America. They were limited on where they could drive it because it was not approved for the roads. Nothing to do with it being too Good on fuel! idiot.

This car was set for only 200-250 to be made with a cost exceeding $120k not the $60k this writer states.

he is a douche bag and wrong about so much it is sad. Look it up yourself after reading his article. Its laughable.

That kind of mileage would be awesome to have in a vehicle.
I have a friend in Italy that has a three cylinder diesel Jeep Cherokee 4X4. 186HP and quiet too.
That one can't be brought into the states either. Not because it isn't allowed, but there is an unholy mother of god tax on bringing it into the states. Nobody wants to be bent over that much.
