Default Something I've wanted to share

I've debated sharing this for awhile because sometimes it's hard to admit I need help. On the other hand, this has been a great community and I've gotten to know several of you over the few years I've been here.

All that aside, my wife and I have been trying to have kids since we've been married with little success and have more recently decided on going the adoption route. You can see the full story on the link I'll share, but it's part of a GofundMe page that some folks in our community told us to start. I don't want anyone to feel obligated to give money or anything like that. I mainly want to share with you guys what we're working on and try and get the word out a little more about our adoption process. Sometimes getting the word out opens new doors and helps move obstacles out of the way. Thanks for being a great site and I promise to share updates as soon as any adoption prospects open up.

    Josh & Valley,

I wish you both the best of luck getting a child. One of my kids and her husband are going through exactly the same thing.
My wife and I have been providing financial support and it really is a lot of money to spend. They're taking a harder look at adoption now and It may be what happens with them.

    We'll see,........

Again, best of luck to you two

    Neil

I have no idea how the "system" works over there on your side of the pond but with so many needy children worldwide I feel that the both of you will be a dream come true for at least one such small person.

I have only known somewhat older needy kids in care, of course my step-daughter might be a little akin and if that is anything to go by then this really works !!

My best to both of you

    JoshJaks,

First of all, as others have said, best of luck to both of you!

I can tell you from personal experience, the process of adoption is both harrowing and infinitely rewarding. My (now ex) Wife and I had no luck conceiving, and we too chose the adoption route after a number of frustrating experiences with the other alternatives.

One of my children was a private adoption here in the USA, private in that we knew the Birth Mother through a family friend which simplified the legal process. As a result of a seemingly long process with two states and the US military, we were fortunate enough to be successful, and a wonderful little girl became my Wonderful Daughter as a result. I carried her from the hospital where she was born, and almost 18 years later she is just about to Graduate High School and will be starting College this fall.

My also Wonderful Son was adopted though the auspices of the Social Services of the Great City of York in the UK a bit of a hike from where Grumpydaddy lives. My son is now 15 and a half (with all that implies for other parents out there), and a Freshman in high school.

Both processes were quite different but with patience ultimately successful. My best advice is to do just what you've done. Honestly you never know where you may find your future little one. Be patient, persisitent, and confident. Although it has been many years since we adopted, if you think any of my experiences will be of help, I'm happy to answer any questions I can, so feel free to PM me!

    Scott

I truly wish the very best of luck to you both. It's always frustrating when people who are very deserving of children have to work the hardest to make it happen while people who are undeserving come by them so easily. On the other hand if all capable and loving parents had no need to adopt then the children who not only deserve, but NEED good parents would be the ones whose dreams never come true.

I've always wholeheartedly believed that family is more about love then it is about blood. The adoption process can be very trying and sometimes discouraging, but in the end you will both find the new love of your life and that is what's truly important. I will definitely be keeping you in my thoughts and sending you my heartfelt wishes.

    Josh,

I am glad to know that you felt you could share such a personal matter with us. Thank you for letting us peek into your life a little. You are a good guy, deserving of the joys (and headaches) of being a parent. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help.

Just to help make it easier, I will gladly put myself up for adoption so you can be my new daddy! I hope you can afford my PC and Gaming habits! I am already potty trained too, well most of the time.

Josh that's an great idea, but please be careful, adopting a Sandy as a baby probably you'll end up with some one looking like this:

    Hey Josh!

Just read the heart felt story and both my wife and I would like to wish you both the best of luck. We know what its like trying to start a family as we are doing the same ourselves. The one thing we have to say is don't give up hope and miracles happen everyday. I am sure the process can get exhausting, but at the end of the day just think about what you are fighting for.

We hope you will soon find the child/children that you both deserve and I know for a fact that whoever it may be, they are going to be blessed with love by the both of you. Thanks again for sharing this story with your PureOC family. Remember, if you need anything from us, you can just have to ask and we will do what we can.

Good luck and best wishes from the both of us.

    Kenny & Samantha
