Neither one, buy a pair of Senhieser HD 555's or the RAZER Barracuda's.. for gaming i use the razers. Great sound and w/ 5.1 surround built in.

For literally a couple extra bucks, consider these:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106157

Can't beat a pair Senn cans, even the older 151's. And they won't make your ears sweat like the other ones will.

Well there are basically 3 types of ear/headphones. Those that fit:

    1. in your ear (small earbuds)
    2. on your ear
    3. around your ear

#2 lets you hear what's going on in the room around you while they're on your head. #3 tends to block out the sound so you won't hear what's going on. Neither is right or wrong, just different, so depends what you want. #3 phones also tend to make the ears sweat, particularly the cheaper ones because they're often not a felt-based covering, are usually a vinyl/synthetic material that make you get hot.

I prefer #2 personally, but everyone is different.

I prefer #3 I had a few "on your ear" kind but after awhile it hurts my ears.
