    Hi Deton
the new pc that I just bought is a quadcore q6600 2.4
2x xfx 8800gt graphic cards not totally sure what the mem is on these as I wont get the pc till next week sometime one has thermatake CL-GO114 DuOrb AX VGA cooler and then other has a Zalman VF900 cooler.
4 gig corsair xms2 ddr 2 1066 ram plus corsair ram cooler
    xfx 750i SLI motherboard

cosmos processer fan (shows Akasa on the heatsink but cant seem to find it on the web)

    1t hd 64 mb cache 72000rpm
    750 watt power supply
fan controller in front also modded side panel with 2 large fans in to keep it cooler currently running in sli mode for better performance currently on windows 7 64 bit in gigabyte chassis poseidon ally case.

I have read that some people say that they have got up to 3.6 on air cooled which would be nice but I understand that alot of it is down to the cooler type.

I just bought some IC Diamond 7 Thermal Paste for the CPU so hope that will help with the temps.

@ Dr Death I would love nothing more then to build a new system for myself but unfortunatley I am on a really tight budget at the moment, I will be building one as soon as I have sorted out the cash flow problem and will have to hide the price tag from the wife lol.

Just finished building a new AM3 Phenom X6 black edition, 16GB DDR3, 2x 1TB 7200 SATA's & a ATI 2GB Gcard, on the ASUS Crossfire IV board for my uncle. funny really as he won't let me borrow it lol.

    Welcome to PureOC.

I've heard some good things about IC Diamond and I'm tempted to try it myself.

The trick to bypassing a nosey wife is to never, ever have a joint bank account. Then when the wife notices that new Rampage III Extreme motherboard on the bookshelf and asks, just tell her, "Couldn't beat the price love. 20quid for a brand new motherboard? Yeah, we'll use it at some point. Hey, you wanna go out for dinner tonight?" Wives have no concept of the cost of hardware.

3.6Ghz doable for 24/7 with air cooler but if you have high-end cooler you can push it to 3.8Ghz but 3.6Ghz is the sweet spot for Q6660.

hahaha....you think so, they are smarter than you think. They might don't say anything at the moment but they you do some thing spiceful later on. Perhaps, "you're sleeping on the couch tonight!"

it's better wait until then but you can visit the Maximus Formula Club, the link is under my signature. You might some helpful info in there for Q6660.

I'm married. We have an 18 month-old. My palms are the only viable option at the moment. Unless I call my wife's dad and say, "Hey, can you take the kid for a few hours? Your daughter and I wanna have wild newly-wed sex on random kitchen furniture." It would make things a little weird between us, you know.

I get similiar temps with Freeze and IC Diamond. Maybe 1 degree difference. I tried like 10 different applications with same results.

Hey guys! My name is Alan, 17 years old here. I currently reside in Ohio. I've built a couple computers but never overclocked them or anything. I just built my i7-920 build and overclocked it, and decided to jump on these forums and learn a bit more and get more in-depth about all of this stuff.

Looking forward to being part of this community!

Hi everyone, my name is Mannie, I'm from London, England. I'm still learning about overclocking and I have built a few systems, but my current is the first to be overclocked, although I don't believe I have reached my systems full potential. I have been looking through some of the posts but I have not seen anything for my processor X6800 yet. I look forward to taking part in this great community.
