    Default Crysis 2

anyone playing it yet? I just picked one up today!!!
Installing it now and it seems like there isn't DX 11 anyone knows when that patch is going to come out?

I'm going to come back and report some frame rates, and see how it performs on my single gtx580 i wonder if it will bring it to its knees

My dual 6850's crush this game, lmao. I only get 50 some FPS on Warhead with all things maxed, too.

Hopefully they issue that patch soon, the game looks fantastic, but not as good as the original 2.

No DX11 yet. It's not very tough on a card, Crysis and Warhead were both far tougher on cards. I won't be including Crysis 2 in our benchmark suite at least until DX11 is available, there's no point benching it in DX9.

Much of the game is also either indoors or in the city so the polygon count is much lower than Crysis and Warhead. It's also far more linear and less sandbox. Looks like they dumbed it down for the consoles. SIGH.

AND there are only checkpoints, NO saving on your own. AI is better than Crysis and Warhead, however.

Crytek: No DirectX 11 patch today; 1.2 PC patch coming later this week

A number of web sites have been reporting today that Crytek had plans to release a new patch sometime today for the PC port of its just released first person shooter Crysis 2. The patch was reported by these sites to finally update the game to support DirectX 11 graphics cards. However a post on the official MyCrysis.com message boards has put these rumors to rest.

According to Crytek's community manager, "No patch was ever confirmed, I have no idea why this website even posted such information." He added, "When there are any big announcements regarding Crysis 2 they will be posted on MyCrysis, if you read something about a patch for example, but don't see it on MyCrysis.com, then it isn't genuine." On the plus side the community manager stated in another forum post there will be a new PC patch for the game available via auto-updater later this week but there's no word on what the patch will contain.

Have it and enjoy it very much The multi-player is a break from the COD or Battlefield I have been absorbed in, and it plays incredible on my system, but I never had a issue with Crysis or Crysis Warhead.

My 6850 was able to run it smoothy on max settings but i was a little dissapointed. I guess i expected too much after what crysis 1 had to offer. After i passed all single play i uninstaled. Just passed it to check it off my ''games to play'' list. In future when i feel like putting on my suit i will reinstal crysis 1 and play it again. It is a great game but heh that happens to all sequels that had great originals... my oppinion
