Haven't had an issue with the OC with previous games, though, this one seems to push the CPU to the max like Black Ops did. I'll monitor my temps as well, before I reset to stock clocks to test.
I'm also wondering if it's the Beta NVIDIA Drivers it "Required" me to upgrade to.

So people been checking the CFG file and looks like PC beta is capped to graphical setting of 3 (max being 5) regardless of how many settings you change in game options..

Yeah, I'm pretty impressed with the graphic detail they put in. I mean just look at the detail work on the Daisey flowers.

    Beta Client Download

    http://www.ausgamers...ails/html/61044
    http://www.filesonic...file/2229317231

    How to install this client:

0: First, you need Origin, EA's distribution platform. http://www.origin.com/au/about

    1: Launch Origin.

2: Check your Origin settings (click the 'cog' icon near the top right of the Origin screen and select 'settings' from the drop-down menu).

3: In the settings, note the directory for 'downloaded games'. By default it is "C:\Program Files\Origin Games" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games" depending on the version of Windows you have.

4: Close Origin by clicking the cog icon and selecting 'exit' from the drop-down menu. You need to exit entirely, not just minimise the program.

5: Extract the archive contents to the directory you identified at step 3.

6: Once the extraction is complete, rename the 'Battlefield 3 Open Beta' directory to 'Battlefield 3 Beta' (if it's not already).

7: Check that the archive extracted properly. You should see a directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3 Beta (or similar, depending on step 3) that has 6 files including bf3.exe and 4 sub-directories including Core and Data.

8: Start Origin and log in. You should now see Battlefield 3 as 'Ready to Install'. Click on that orange 'Ready to Install' button.

    9: Done!

Battlefield 3 Open Beta Update #2

I want to give you an overview of how the Open Beta is helping us shape a fantastic final game, what we are implementing based on your feedback, and how the Open Beta will help us deliver a robust gaming environment from day one.

The Open Beta is a true Beta
The Battlefield 3 Open Beta is based on software that is more than one month old. We need to test the new back end dedicated server structure we’ve built. Not only have we built a new game engine, but an entirely new back end system so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of dedicated servers on all platforms.

Just like normal procedure when releasing a game, the Open Beta has had long lead times due to testing, certification, and setting up. This means that the code you are now playing is actually quite early and not representative of the final game.

We had to do this in order to have as many people testing as possible, in order to ensure a top quality experience when the game is released. However, we’re confident in the Battlefield formula and confident that our fans will support us in order to make Battlefield 3 better.

    Dedicated servers require dedicated testing
The biggest reason for running the Open Beta is to stress test our servers and back end. Already, we are seeing 6 times the number of simultaneous players in the Battlefield 3 Open Beta compared to the Beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2! The fact that Battlefield 3 is clearly our biggest game launch ever by a magnitude of 6 makes it doubly important to test everything.

    DICE on Recent Hacks

The Battlefield 3 Beta has been under attack recently with the many hackers that plague the Battlefield community. Among aimbots and server hacks, we’ve also reported on a 3D wall hack that has recently surfaced. However, the latest FAQ that can be found on the Battlelog has shown that DICE is indeed looking into these issues.
“Patch please, too many aimbotters today!”
A patch wouldn’t remove aimbots or hacks. Punkbuster is disabled during the Open BETA but we are monitoring what hacks are being used.
It was also reported to Ian Tornay on Twitter that some fans have been able to access servers that reward players with millions of points. To this, he responded, “First – don’t join the custom servers. We’re working to see what can be done.

While it is at the expense of the numerous PC players playing the Beta, it seems to be a good thing that the game is being hacked now, without any protection. This way, DICE can learn as much as possible about what is out there and learn how to deal with it for the final version.

    BF3 New Maps

"...the public beta birthed widespread concern over whether or not the game can live up to the hype. With just over two weeks until the game arrives on store shelves, this dearth of info served as a red flag -- until now. After tackling a combination of single player, co-op, and multiplayer in a fresh build of Battlefield 3, I must say I'm pleasantly surprised.

Is it as glitchy as the beta? Not in my experience. If you've noticed, the beta hasn't updated on consoles and the build available to the public is over six weeks old. My time spent with these maps on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 flowed smoothly the entire time. I never saw anyone fall through the map and no long-neck avatars squirmed across the ground twitching. Not only that, enemies appear to take more damage to kill -- another qualm I had with what I'd played before the latest demo...
