[Need to Rant] BF3 account was hacked!!!

Sorry just need to share this out of anger and frustration. On Wednesday when i finished my last game of BF3 i logged off and shut down as usual, then on Thursday evening when i tried logging in Origin prompted me that my origin id and password was incorrect, thinking it was a glitch i changed it immediately and it went well.

15mins later while i was idling in Battle log screen a prompt came up "you are logged in from another location!" I became really suspicious this time and immediately changed my password again (2nd time) and thinking that it was safe after the 2nd password change i left my pc on idle again and went out for dinner and came back 1 hour later only to realize that Battle log has reported that i had finished 1 game of Norshar Canals with 21kills and 42 deaths!!!!

I was furious mad!!! the hacker definitely had trojan and a key logger installed on my PC! else how the hell was he able to get into my account 3 occassions immediately after the password change ?!?!?!

I instantly shut down my PC and reformated my OS and game drive. Here i am now wondering how the hell this thing happened when my PC is only used for Gaming and nothing else. I surf the web on my ipad mainly and still wonder how did the hacker did what he last did I no longer feel safe even after my PC has been reformated and this could happen to anyone here i warn you!

Bully, make sure you report it to Origin, I believehe has access to your account or maybe your email address not your PC. What are you running for virus and spyware protection ? Also have your iPad scanned just to be on the safe side.

Did you change your password on just Orgins and battlelog?? I think they 2 diff log ins, its been a while since I need to change anything so don't quote me on it..

I don't think your computer was hacked, I think that he somehow hacked origin or something and when you changed your password he didn't get kicked off so he didn't need to find your new password.

Jim, his account was hacked, it has nothing to do with other people playing the game, but if it happened to one person, and can start happening to others, which is why I asked Bully if he reported it.
It also possible that they know what's going on and haven't done anything about it

Sorry to hear this Bully! Death to all hackers!! Like Stan mentioned you should report it to EA ASAP and i would also change all your passwords.

Thanks guys, sorry was so busy at work. Yes I did report to ea and they did not say what action they will be taking. The CS guy just replied with a one liner saying I'm sorry to hear about it. Till now I'm still wondering how the guy hack my pc, I'm pretty sure he got into my pc and used a key logger to capture my key strokes which is much easier than hacking into origin.

I'm glad it is over now, they have looked at my account and said that all is good. But I have changed all my passwords including the email that is linked to origin. I will change my passwords more often now that such things can happen.

Hi, just signed up to say I experienced the same thing! I haven't been using my pc much, and had installed bf3 but not origin months ago. I received a similar message recently about someone else signed in under my account, didnt think much of it, assumed at the time it was my laptop - but I had never installed origin there. Changed my password anyway, but too late it seems. I see activity on my account 2 days ago - having just reinstalled bf3 today - and naturally that wasn't me. I don't download things, and especially nothing to do with bf3 or origin, so I suspect it was a flaw in Origin.

Bullydog, just out of interest, had you also not used origin for a while? It asked me to update mine as it was so out of date.

Who would play under someone else's accout anyway? That's such a strange thing to do. Got me a few unlocks though, am mighty confused. Time to check the old credit card info I guess :S

I've had the signed out of origin issue, but never looked into it. I have noticed that I've apparently played when I hadn't. I don't really care though. lol

I try to never browse the web without Sandboxie - Sandbox software for application isolation and secure Web browsing, its an awesome little tool and free if you don't a nag screen.

Must be some kind of backdoor in a particular version of Origin? I've emailed EA sport, to be honest I'm not sure which aspect of it has been compromised. Haha yeah as long as they are winning!
