Default Valve Sued In Germany Over Game Ownership

Steam users own the games they purchase and should be able to resell them when they want to, just like owners of traditional card or board games can, said Carola Elbrecht, project manager for consumer rights in the digital world at the VZBV, on Thursday. But while those traditional game owners can resell their games whenever they like, Steam users often cannot, she said.

She has a valid point. I have several Steam games I'd like to give away or sell, but I can't. It's always been mildly frustrating.

I agree, the idea we are merely "leasing" the game we purchased is insane. While companies maximize profit, users are stripped of their right of ownership.

Her points not valid, there are several company's that do not allow key codes for games to be reused by another person, even the new Far Cry only allows the game to be installed on one system. I tried installing the game on a 2nd system, yes the game installed, but you can't use it.

they sell it on USB flash drive instead or download, however you don't really understand Apple's EULA. No matter you own the CD or a downloaded version, you cannot use it on non-branded apple products or redistributed.
