Default BioWare: Hollywood Very Interested in Mass Effect Film

    http://kotaku.com/5455307/bioware-ho...ss-effect-film

BioWare's Casey Hudson, the project director for Mass Effect 2, acknowledged a "tremendous amount of interest" from Hollywood in a Mass Effect film but vows such a movie, if done, will be done right or not at all.

"Obviously we have a tremendous amount of interest from people in Hollywood to make a major motion picture about 'Mass Effect,'" Hudson told the MTV Movies Blog. "The most important thing for us is, we don't just want to see a movie get made. We want to see a great movie get made, if it's going to get done at all."
A movie that comes from a very personal RPG would be quite a challenge.

That's not what it's about, though. Hollywood peered over at the video games' side of the table and noticed that they had more money, and now they want to leech off of a big gaming title so that they can have some of that money, too.

Potentially, it could work out for both parties. People who aren't familiar with Mass Effect could see the movie and become interested enough to buy one of the games, if not both of them. Also, of course, you have the people who play and love both Mass Effect games and wonder if the movie would give them a similar thrill, so they go out and see it. Everybody wins, but I like how Bioware has decided that they want a quality movie to circulate the population and not just more money in their pocket.
