Default problem using sound card with new mb

    hi to all
i recently updated my pc to
    asus p6x58d premium
    intel i7 950
corsair 2x3 gb ram triple channel 2000 mhz
    power 900 watt acbel
    gtx 295 vga
    3 sound cards:
1.tc electronic konnekt 8 external sound card connect with pc via firewire(i must use it for music making)
    2.creative xfi xtreme audio(for game)
3.realtek hd audio (original mb sound)

but in this system after installing my win7 64bit and installing tc.electronic driver the software control panel says no device is found but the blue light is on and its wierd!(its an indicator on my sound card and it lit when the device connects to a pc which has been installed its driver)
device manager says the 1394 port works fine but sound tab on control panel doesnt recognize my tc electronic sound device
but 2 others are visible and are ok.
i disabled realtek at bios setting but didnt work
i disabled creative xfi at device manager but didnt work either.
is this problem for using 3 sound device at the same time?

my 1394 port seems to be ok and my konnekt 8 too because it works fine on my laptop
    please help me

You built the system after installing Windows 7? That might be your issue.

    driver issue.
Is TC Electronic supports Win7 64bit?

What OS do you have on the laptop?

i think the win 7 driver for tc electronic SUCKS.

Sounds like there may be a conflict if you are using 2 sound cards or the card is bad. If you are using 2 cards the slots may be sharing the same IRQ.

possibility but he did say Windows recognizes the hardware installed but it doesn't work, if IRQ confllicting then Windows won't see one of the device.

@luciferspulse; why don't you test one card at a time with different driver to isolate the problem?

My experienced with printer were similar to your sound cards. When I installed the 64-bit with Win7, then it won't work but Win7 can see the printer but if I install 32-bit with Vista 32-bit then the printer work flawless. I'm sure it is Win7 driver issue.

you should remove the other sound cards and install the TC Electric card first with proper driver version for the Windows7. If your Win7 is 32-bit then use 32-driver for Win7.

Sounds to me like he needs to do a clean install, the OS should have never been installed before he built the system.

Have you tried reinstalling the Creative sound card, and is this something that you just bought new, if not is it an older X-Fi card ?

im not sure i got your idea but i have creative xfi xtreme audio from my last system and i didnt change it.
just unplugged creative and disable realtek audio from asus bios setting and only installed tc electronic because i wanted to test tc.electronic alone.but as i said the problem persists.

ok, so you reinstalled win7 but have you try to update win7 to the latest updates?

Sometime this help with driver/hardware conflict, and the last resource is you have to contact tc elctronic.

Does the firewire port need to be enabled?
Or drivers installed (updated) for it?

I had some of the same issues with USB devices (not firewire) my XP 32bit to Win7 PRO 64bit OS change.

Some I could work around, but some I have to run in the Win7's Virtual PC/XP mode.
    Regards, Doug
