I've been thinking of getting a new gaming mouse for quite some time now, but the opportunity never arose. My MX518 has been working very well for a good number of years, and I just never had any reason to replace it. Newer shinier mice came out every year, and I kept track of the ones I wanted to try, and now it looks as though I have the perfect excuse:
I recently got a new laptop that did not have the Trackpoint I had grown so used to and the touchpad is driving me up a wall. So now I'm considering of using the faithful 518 with the lappy wherever it goes, and getting one of them newer fancier mice I've been dreaming of.
Here are the things I've been looking at:
Logitech's G500 - seems like the logical continuation
CM Storm Sentinel Advance
Mionix Naos 5000
If you've got any other mice in mind tell me, but keep in mind that I'm not at all interested in Razer mice.

Another vote for the Mionix Naos 5000! Best and only mouse I will ever own, unless Mionix comes out with a better version of this mouse...

Mionix hasn't been around long, but in a very short time they have made some excellent mice and the 5000 is one of their best yet.

This is where all your gaming mouse fantasies come true doood. Watch the video! Ive been very happy with the RAT7 and all its attention to detail. I especially like the two thumbwheels and the precision aim button. The software works great too.![]()

Okay so I've put together the votes cast across a few sites and here are the final standings:
g500 8
cm 2
mionix 5
other 8
As there was no unity in the other (highest vote was 2 for the roccat kone[+]) it looks as though the G500 will be my next mousing implement. Thank you all for the suggestions.

Hahaha. I did order the G500 already, so I'll have to wait until my next mouse purchase to cop a feel of some Mionix. Maybe by then they'll have even more enticing offerings.![]()
