Defiantly a Kindle, or better still a Kindle Fire, I bought one for my wife for Christmas, she uses it every single day and loves it. Plus if you buy a Amazon Prime membership [ $79 ] you get a hell of a lot of books, music, and movies for free, plus you always get free 2nd day shipping on any product from Amazon.

Wi-Fi connection is strong, colors and fantastic, the screen and text is great for reading books, my old lady must have read at least 70 books since Christmas, it's defiantly worth the $199, and the Prime membership is worth the $79, if you buy this for her, she's going to love you for it.

I need some explanation.. I do not planning downloading any book from Amazon.. wife already have big collection on computer and I am not sure that Kindle can be used for just file transfer from PC ( I was reading somewhere that Kindle can be filled only from official Amazon stores)

Same thing goes with a lot e book readers, they want you to get book through them. Amazon has thousands of free books. Maybe buy her a small notebook and let her upload the books she already has ? I'm not big om E-Book Readers, I was going by personal ownership. Seeing as your doing an X79 build, I figured you wouldn't mind spending $199 on the wife

That true, but we talk already about notebook and we decided that we do not need that toy.
I just need not expensive e-book reader that can be filled with anything we want. Wi-Fi is only the bonus.
( Amazon have great sore - but in wrong language, my wife not very strong in English)

I found this for you at Tiger Direct, it lets you download your own books, but it does come with 100 pre-downloaded books:

You can load what you want to onto a Kindle Reader and the Fire Tablet too.. Also, the Kindles AND the Nook will both read PDF files. Transfer books through the USB connection while it's charging. This is how I load my E-Books now.

From your link, I like this one. Just my .

What you think about Archos made tablets... they not so expensive and, at least technical specifications, looks not to bad.
I am interesting in ARCHOS 80 G9 8GB Classic and Kindle Fire. I was reading I lot diferent reviews about both of them.... Cant decide with one are better.
