    Default OCZ Modular PSU cables

I picked up a Modular PSU from a buddy of mine and it doesnt have all of the cables that should have came with it. It is an OCZ700MXSP 700W unit. I have a few questions about the missing cables.

    1. Does anyone know where to buy replacement modular cables?
    2. Im guessing Each OEM will use a different pin out on the modular 6 or 8 pin into the modular rails. Standard on the business end but proprietary on their ends? Correct?

I really would like 2 modular 8 pin to PCI-E 6+2 cables. I can use just the PCI-e 6 pin but I'm trying to future proof just in case I end up with another video card at some point. Hate to start this journey again looking for 8 pin cables.

Any info would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

PS: I have sent a trouble ticket to OCZ requesting info on cable replacement. Waiting on their reply.

Corsair makes a really cool colored sleeved kit for $100. They are custom colored in various colors.......

The Corsair one's won't fit the OCZ. OCZ uses a diff set-up for the pin outs from the PSU.

which cable are you looking for exactly??... I have 3 OCZ PSU from my HTPC builds. All of them using the same modular cables. If I have a extra of that cable I may be able to help.

If you are looking to just get a extra 6+2 pin cable I think I might have one, But I don't want to short myself a cable either, but if you are looking to replace the 6 pin for a 6+2 pin maybe we can trade. I won't be using the 6+2 pin cable in any of my HTPC, However the 6 pin I need for my GPU.

I need the PCI-E cables. I dont have either of the PCI-E cables that suppose to come with this unit. I wouldnt have got it from him if I knew it would be this hard to get replacement cables. I was thinking PCI-E is a standard cable now sweat. WRONG! From what I can tell so far is that each OEM will wire the pins coming out of the rails however they wish as long as they are standard pci-e on the other end. Even cables from the same OEM will not match another PSU from the same OEM. I am still waiting for a reply from OCZ on replacement cables. Hopefully they can help.

    Cables that came with unit.
    • 1 x 6-pin PCI-E (Missing)
    • 1 x 6+2-pin PCI-E (Missing)
    • 4 x Peripheral
    • 2 x Floppy
    • 6 x SATA

Id love some of those cables. Too bad they wont work in this PSU. OEMs should make them standad or sell the cables seperatly so we are not guesssing on which cables will work.

OCZ just replied. They said they will send me 2 cables free of charge! Wow! Now that is some serious customer service. They are sending 2 6/8-pin PCIE cables.

i know right. Never expected that kind of service. I was asking about buying a set of cables and he said he will send them free of charge. My jaw dropped. And told me to pick which 2 cables I wanted for a picture of all the cables that originally came with the PSU.

I have been using their memory in my last build for the last 4 plus years and never had an issue out of it. Now I got to deal with their customer service for something that shouldn't be covered by any warranty and they have truly made a fan out of me. I will be looking into more OCZ products in the future. Btw this PSU is so quite its insane. I wasnt sure if my PC on until I say the lights. Cant wait to get those cables to clean up this mess I created just so I could play GW2 today. lol
