Default Computer wont boot and no beep codes - please help

    Hello all,

I am new here and would really appreciate any help in this. My machine all of a sudden has stopped booting. It powers on ( sometimes straight away, sometimes it turns on then off about 3 times then powers up ) so all the leds and fans etc work but it doesnt beep or show anything on the monitor. This is what I have done so far:

    Taken out all PCI cards
    Reseated all components connections
Took out All RAM ( It does the correct beep error for no RAM so I ruled RAM out )
    Removed Video Card
    Disconnected all DVD drives
    Disconnected all Hard Drives
    Removed the professional Sound card
Reset the CMOS many times using both Jumper method and Removing battery

I dont have a multimeter so I havent been able to test the power supply. So overall all that is left in the system that is on is the Mobo, CPU, power supply and the RAM ( which passed the error code test ) and that`s it and it doesnt beep still... any suggestions ?

    Thanx in advance

    First, welcome to PureOC.
Please fill out your system's specs in your user control panel, so we'll know exactly what components you're working with.

To test the power supply, get a Power Supply Tester - simple to use and inexpensive; e.g. Antec, Rosewill, Thermaltake, Rexus. It's a good tool to have around, just in case, even though your power supply may not be the problem. Prices range from around $20 to $35; available from Amazon, Newegg, Micro Center, etc.

A couple of times I had computers in the shop that would light the motherboard LEDs and spin fans, but do nothing more. Sometimes the LEDs would then go dark after a few moments and the fans stop spinning. No beep codes. In each case it proved to be a failed power supply. When other components proved to be the problem (disk, ram, video card, etc.) the BIOS would always give out beep codes and/or show a code via the motherboard status LED (if present), so it is less likely to be one of those. Can't rule out the motherboard or processor just yet, but suggest testing the power supply as an appropriate next step.

The power Supply is my first guess too. But at this point, without knowing the system's specs, it's only a guess.
