    Default Printer Workaround

Hello! Here's the situation, I have a HP Photosmart C7280 AIO. When I need to print a regular document, black ink only, if there is an empty colored cartridge, it won't print. Tried adjusting the settings manually, looking in properties and anywhere else I can, to no avail. Is there a workaround for this?

IF this printer has permanent print heads and separate ink supplies and you run the printer with one of the colors empty there is a risk of burning out the print head or clogging it irrecoverably. Even if you were printing in black only some color ink is necessary for keeping the color nozzles clear to prevent clogging.

No work around for it. Hp makes sure you buy new ink. They suck. If you do a lot of color printing invest in a color laser printer.

Well, I guess that's what they have to do to keep the ink selling. It's the little things that keeps their coffers full. Thanks for the input guys.
