    Default Next upgrade

So I thought my current system would be able to run any game in 2560 x 1440 at a minimum of 60 FPS, I was sadly mistaken. I can get 40-70 fps in BF4 but not in AEMA 3 that is more like 40-50 FPS. My curent setup is an evga X58 Classified 3 core I7 @ 4.2, 2X GTX 780 ACX SC running about 1176. All on air in an NZXT switch 810. The OS is on a 120 gb corsair SSD. What would you upgrade to hit hit 60fps in those games and the next set of games being released like watchdogs and the upcoming GTA 5.

I can provide some pics of my set up with fans if anyone think I might be able to optimize my air flow better.

from what I see you really only need to upgrade the board and CPU to a newer Platform. The board is more than likely your bottleneck. You can wait and go with X99 with DDR4 or move now and get a high end Z97 with the fastest memory out. Your GPUs are already top of the line and have the 3gb frame buffer.

Board, memory and CPU.... are my only suggestions, everything else you have is already really good.
Z97 + 4790K (release on 06/25) suppose to be a very good overclocker.
Memory, get some DDR3 in 2400MHz which is a good price to performance range..

Or you can wait for X99 for DDR4, unsure when the release on those will be just yet.

I thought about it a lot last night and I think I am going to take out my sound card, if you look it is directly underneath gpu 1 I am sure that is contributing to the high temps on gpu 1. Then add some more fans. I will set them all up as intakes and have just the top as exhaust. I am also going to move up to win 8.1. I want to finally go wc but my jeep is sucking all my money up right now. I priced out everything to wc my gpu's last night and damm it was over $500.00.

I just got a i5-4690K preordered (ships in 9 days) today. That, together with an MSI G45 Gaming Motherboard and two GTX680s on water is how I'll do it. I have 16GB of DDR3-2133 RAM to use with it.

This new i5 CPU is being offered at the same price as the 4670K that it replaces. A new ASUS motherboard for the i5-4670K that I already had on the shelf is under 100 bucks.
This is worth looking into for someone wanting to upgrade to the newest stuff.
