Default Corsair Announces Vengeance LPX High-Performance DDR4 Memory

Vengeance LPX memory is designed for high-performance overclocking. The heatspreader is made of pure aluminum for faster heat dissipation, and the eight-layer PCB helps manage heat and provides superior overclocking headroom.

Im excited about DDR4 potential but not at the early release products. 4gb and 8gb sticks are normal, the speeds are about what we have now. voltages are still close to what we have now. In a few months to a year we will start to see the DDR4 that excites us. 3800-4600mhz, 16GB sticks 1.2v ect ect. 128GB fitting on a board. Then I will be excited.

Seemed like when DDR3 first came out, it was blowing away DDR2 in the speed department but I wasn't following hardware as closely back then. However, it does seem like the improvements aren't as huge as they use to be. On the other hand, in another 2 to 3 years, upgrading to a new system should be pretty exciting again.

From what I know. DDR4 memory with speeds of 2133MHz - 2666MHz are roughly the same as what you would pay for DDR3. So assuming prices are going to hike is anyone's best guess at this point. So I wouldn't assume without solid facts, but if you end up getting a set of memory that can support speeds of 3000MHz +, thats where the money making comes in and you can see kits going for $400+. But you are talking about speeds that DDR3 can NOT fully support natively just yet. Right now, DDR3 2666MHz kits 8GB kits run for about $225 - $250 so if you take that into consideration, its really not that bad in that prospective.

But in the last yr or so, memory prices have already climbed higher than it was 2 yrs ago for the same memory you would buy today.
