Default 790i ftw 8 Phase Digital PWM....

Would it be ok as in would it run without problems if I bought a 790i and put the ATI 4870x2 on it? I know it can't crossfire but would it hinder the performances of the 4870x2 or will it run as good as it always does.

Just asking since I have never criss crossed chipsets before AMD Nvidia.

I believe you won't have any problem because X2 has its own crossfire chip. The same way GX2 works on Intel or AMD mobo and of course you can't do cf with 2 actual X2, you're already knew that.

thanks for clearing that up for me. yeah I knew it had its own cf chip bridge but I didn't know if it would work correctly on a nforce board. thanks for clearing that up for me.
