Default I think my CPU died....

Ok, i had my old 939 AMD Athlon 3000+ (Venice) running comfortably @2.2Ghz but it was running way too hot so i went to put it back down to 2.0Ghz which it ran nice and cool at.. however in the BIOS i dropped the Vcore a wee bit too low and it didn't like it the computer booted and said the CPU was only running at 1Ghz..(Crap).. then the BIOS Got corrupted(Thank you CrashfreeBIOSII).

After reflashing the BIOS Via the Recovery disc provided by the manufacturer the computer wouldn't boot... i would push the power switch and everything would stir too life the power light on the motherboard is lit.. however there is no boot up screen and no Beeps..

So i am pretty sure that my CPU is Blown and that the motherboard is possibly damaged.. After telling my parents they got a technician to come in and take a look at it he said exactly that... and that the CPU and/or mobo needs to be replaced.

I have a replacement CPU coming in 2-3 days.. this is new too me.. Is it just simply reseting the CMOS and Replacing the CPU or is more troubleshooting Needed??

    Thanks.

well, when you overclock a CPU you will shorten its life span and especially you don't have edequate cooler.

So your parents are buying you a new board and processor ? make sure you go with Intel this time. If you can give us some idea of what king of a budget you might have for replacement, we can help you pick out your hardware.
