    Default upgrading my cpu

Hey guys I have a Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI Pro motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128302) and was looking to upgrade my cpu to a core 2 duo, but could not find anywhere if my motherboard could support it.

    Thanks,

On the newegg page you have there, to the right is a tab that says "specifications". You click that, then it tells you the socket type AND what CPUs are compatible. As for your board, no. It is not meant for a C2D.

Are you looking to spend extra and get a board also? Here is a suggestion of what to get on newegg here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131334R

I was not looking for a new board, in my manual it said it supports dual core processors, and since c2d is just that I thought it might work. I guess I'll just get pentuim d instead.

    Thanks,
