Project Natal Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_txF7iETX0&fmt=18
Microsoft impressed a lot of gamers with the potential that Project Natal showed on the Xbox 360 at E3, but their plans for the motion-sensing camera extend far beyond the console. Speaking to CNET, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates explained Natal will be able to connect to PCs as well, and he sees a world where it will even become a mainstay in offices around the world.
When talking about new technologies Microsoft is brewing, Gates said, "I'd say a cool example of that, that you'll see... in a little over a year, is this [depth] camera thing." Gates explained that although it was premiered as an Xbox 360 peripheral, it's meant "for media consumption as a whole, and even if they connect it up to Windows PCs for interacting in terms of meetings, and collaboration, and communication."

LOL the dad in the video was so excited when he was repairing the carso lame.
But Natal seems so cool! It will be awesome when it's released for PC.
However, most motion-sensing games are pretty much letdowns (Cough cough Wii).

Well the good thing about this, you won't really turn into a couch potato. You're actually moving the whole body not only just your fingers.
Darm Bill you are getting richer richer and I'm getting poorer poorer...my hard earned cash keep runing into your pockets.

I don't really see the point in taking the movement to the max. The scene where the kid is skateboarding on his virtual skateboard seems quite over the top with the jumping. The advantage of video games is the ability to be lazy I mean if i had to jump to do a simple action in a video game I would probably just go skateboarding outside instead where the graphics and physics are second to none lol.
I'd say the movie scrolling thing is kinda cool but another downside is having that camera on you the entire time. I mean if someone hacks into my Xbox they can have a free session of me making out with my girlfriend and etc hehehe.
but the sensing technology is pretty good. if they can get the cost down i think it would be even better for public information kiosks, libraries and that sort of thing where the interactoin simplicity will be utilized to maximum effect. Could probably do some pretty cool things with this on PC for corporate presentations and stuff too.
