yes that looks like one of those aftermarket thermalright or Noctua heatsinks huh?

i'm pretty sure when gulftown is officially released there will be a new list of heatsinks and waterblocks that will be Core i9 or Gulftown compatible/ready

It's nice to see new cooler for i9 but can we afford the i9 if Intel doesn't release the cheaper version?

Well, the first i9 CPU will be the Extreme Edition and I heard its cost $1500 smacks in the face.
    Ouch!

Seriously, if you're going OC i9 I think you are better go with H20.
If you think i7 are hot now, I'm sure i9 will be hotter than i7 cause of two more extra cores/threads.

It may be massive, but it still does not do a good job cooling. Did you notice the temps ? all in the 70c range.

General question, I suddenly started doubting myself: is i7 or i5 compatible with the six-core Gulftowns? Or neither?

And that cooler looks great, I sure wish Intel would supply their i7's with those, and i5's too for that matter.

The i9 Gulftown is being targeted for X58 platforms
so if you own a i7-870 P55 system the Gulftown is not going to fit
but if you own an i7 CPU based on the 1366 X58 platform, then yes gulftown should
    fit
