    Default Apple iPad

After nearly a decade of rumors and speculation, Apple's finally unveiled the iPad. Apple says there's room for a third device between the smartphone and the laptop, and that it has to be better at tasks like browsing, email, photos, e-books, and videos than both -- netbooks, says Steve, "aren't better at anything." It looks just like the leak we saw, with a large touchscreen keyboard that Steve says is "a dream to type on," and an interface that's very reminiscent of the iPhone, although it's significantly expanded and altered.

Ever since I heard that it was being released under the name iPad, the first thing that came to mind was:

Apple releases new brand of Maxi-pads.

Shoulda made the border thinner, looks like an iPhone on steroids.

And.......like I'm gonna walk around with that to read the news and browse the Internet......AND........carry a laptop too because it's not designed to replace a laptop.

So let's see.......gotta carry an iPhone, an iPod, an iPad, and a MacBook around wherever I go. Lemme think about that for a minute.......um......NO.

Reading your posts, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I have an iPad and it is the best investments I made. It is not so expensive and while I have a few Apple products at home, with WiFi and 3G, I don't need to take my laptop with me when I'm out and about in town or going away for the weekend. The iPad can do almost anything my MacBook can do. I wouldn't recommend an iPad for gamers, graphic designers and developers. With my iPad and my phone, I don't have to sit in the office the whole day.
