DriverGenius is a good program. It scans all your hardware and downloads the drivers needed.

Hello I'm also looking for a driver updater to update my PC's drivers regularly, that's why I looked into this forum. Ahm, I checked out Driver Max and it's interesting but I also came across with a popular tool for updating drivers: Driver Detective. I want to try out this program out of it's positive reviews but I want to know which is better for me. Ahm, any feedback guys? thanks in advance.

I don't trust these updater programs. I would just go to the motherboard manufacturer website and download them myself.

Your better off searching for drivers yourself, one of my customers had Driver Detective installed on his system, it gave false reports that drivers had been updated and installed

I'm always confused by people updating...........I never update unless I add/change hardware.....or re-install my OS..........if your not having an issue with performance, crashes, etc.... then why F with a system that's working??

Yeah, driver update software is about as bad of spyware as you can get. Besides, if you just use windows update, it will update your hardware now too without the risk of putting anything extra on.

I've found for motherboards and video cards alike, just go straight to the chipset manufacturer page. Since amd and nvidia are pretty much the only two, that's where I go. You'll always get the latest as well as beta info, and no extra stuff. Even the product manufacturer sites are at least a couple to few days behind the chipset sites. For misc. hardware, then I'll go to product manufacturer pages.
