Default TeamViewer - FREE Remote Access Software.

    TeamViewer HomPage > Link

How many Times have you been on the phone explaining to people how to fix their PC and you want access to their dektop remotely because they are not as computer literate as you are and you know how to fix their PC in seconds.?

Converstion goes something like this just to get their IP address from their PC so you can configure a remote desktop connection..

User 1 : click on the left side globe > in the lower box that says "Search Programs and Files" type CMD
User 2 : What Globe ? .. oh I see it ... ok done that. A Black Box has appeared.
User 1 : that's correct .. in the black box type "IPCONFIG" one word no spaces and press enter ..
User 2 : IP What? .. Spell it for me.
    User 1 : I..P..C..O..N..F..I..G
User 2 : OK.. I get an error .. IP config not found.
    User 1 : No Spaces...
User 2 : Oh .. Right ... WOW ! lots of test just filled the black box. Now What?
I think you get the Idea ..lol

30 minutes later you are able to configure Remote Desktop Connection but you can not get it to work because of Firewalls, NAT, Port forwarding etc and you give up.

TeamViewer is FREE for personal Use. No Installation required. No Admin rights required so it will work on virtually any PC connected to the Internet behind any firewall.

    • Remote support without installation
With TeamViewer you can remotely control any computer as if you were sitting right in front of it - even through firewalls. All your partner has to do is start a small application, which does not even require installation or administrative rights.

    • Remote access to unattended computers
Easily get direct 24/7 access to unattended computers and servers. The best thing about it: no additional costs for permanent installation on your customerís computer, office computer, or home computer.

    • Highest security standard
TeamViewer is a very secure solution. All versions feature completely secure data channels with key exchange and AES (256 Bit) session encoding, the same security standard used by https/SSL.

    • File transfer
TeamViewer comes with integrated file transfer that allows you to copy files and folders to and from a remote partner - which also works behind firewalls.

    • Works behind firewalls
The major difficulties in using remote control software are firewalls and blocked ports, as well as NAT routing for local IP addresses.
If you use TeamViewer you don't have to worry about firewalls: TeamViewer will find a route to your partner

    • Browser based access
On the road and need to control a remote computer? Why don't you use TeamViewer Web Connector? The purely html and flash based solution can be used from nearly any browser and operating system.

    • Optimized performance
Whether you have a LAN or dial-up connection, TeamViewer optimizes display quality and speed depending on your network connection.

    TeamViewer HomPage > Link

Each Computer requires Teamviewer to work.

All you need to do is download Teamviewer(3.1M and run the EXE file. You can install Teamveiwer or select Run. No Installation is required.

Once running you will see the following screen . Once Both PC's have the software running you will be able to connect within seconds.
All you need is the ID number and password of the remote PC you wish to gain control of. Teamviewer will take care of the rest.

Enter the ID number in the Partner ID Box and select the Button "Connect to Partner"

Once connected it will look something like this ...
Menu bar at top which you can configure you connection / Transfer files etc ..

It is simple as pressing the red "X" on the top bar to close the remote session.

I have used Teamviewer many times to help people all over the world. Within seconds I have sorted their problems without the need to explain what to do. The person who you are helping can see exactly what you are doing and can terminate the session when ever they like.
You can also record the sesion to keep for futire reference. There are loads of other things that can be done with Teamviewer. These are all explained on their website.

This is a must have App is you require to make a Remote connection to Any PC ..

VNC almost does the same thing.

VNC is good if you know the IP address and you have able to configure the port forwarding.
VNC works great using Direct connections. DNC is not good if you are behind a firewall using NAT that has blocked certain ports e.g. 5900

Teamviewer tunnels the ports through port 80 ( standard browser port) As long as you have access to the internet via a proxy or direct teamviewer will work ...

Teamviewer VNC are software solutions for personal use. Business users may consider hardware-based approach, such as RHUB remote support appliance.

Great post regarding TeamViewer. TeamViewer is best for remotely accessing computers. In addition to it, one can even deploy on premise remote support appliance such as RHUB appliances for remotely accessing computers from anywhere.
