Default Help, My laptop Froze while doing a BOSS Update.

I have an almost one year old Samsung Ativ Book 7 laptop.

I am suing Samsung's SW Update software to take any updates for the system.

I have updated the BIOS via this built in software before white out any problems. However this time the process froze and I have no mouse or keyboard controls.

    Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Download the older bios version and try flashing it from a USB drive back to the old version.

I can't do anything. The screen and all inputs are not responding. The time on the screen still reads 1:28pm from when it froze. Also I can't turn off the laptop via the power button.

You will have to download the bios on a different computer and manually power off the computer by holding down the button until it stops. Then boot into bios and you may be able to flash it.

Have you tried removing the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS?

Not that easy on most notebooks.

Sadly you have no choice but to pull the battery to kill the power and reboot to see if there was any damage done to the system. YOu may be surprised to find out it was not as bad as you thought. I can see it was at 86% of Verifying the main block. Which means the update was already completed. You have a very good chance of your notebook being able to post to bios or post to reflash from a bootable flash drive.
