Default odd Oblivion performance with 8800 GTS 320MB

I'm currently benching one of these for a review and testing it against an X1900 XTX. I expected it to be much faster in Oblivion than the X1900 XTX, and in some cases it certainly is, but once you turn up the settings to 4xAA / 16xAF / 1600x1200, the X1900 XTX pulls ahead, and at 1920x1440, you don't even want to know how bad te 8800 GTS 320MB is performing.

Can anyone with one of these cards confirm that with these settings, Oblivion fps are low?

    C2D : 3.0 GHZ, all stock.
    1920x1440, 4xAA, 16xAF = 12.4fps using fraps

this was with all in-game settings at max, running around outside in the forest area with lots of trees etc.

im pretty sure it is accurate, and i've had a look around the net, there seems to be a subliminal message out their suggesting the 320MB version is not a good option for those who want high AA levels with high resolutions. I say subliminal because today i checked 10 odd high profile reviews and you would almost miss it if you weren't looking for it...

But i have to say, at the lower end of things it holds up really well. Review will go live late tomorrow, then you can take a look for yourself

Well I do know that the amount of ram will have a huge impact on teh amount of resolution you can use and still have a playable game. The higher the res. the more textures the card will have to process, which are stored in ram. So I would say if the ati card pulls ahead with higher res it's b/c of the 512mb of memory when compared to the 320mb on the GTS, the 640mb GTS should pwn the ati card. WOOPSY dead post sorry.
