    Default XFX 6950 2GB VS Zotac GTX470 1.2GB

    Hey Guys,

Trying to see what will work better for the set-up I want to use.
Right now I am debating on what I should do.

    I have 2x XFX ATI 6950 2GB Versions flashed to 6970 Bios

I also have 3x Zotac GTX470 that I can run Tri SLI

I want to watercooled the GPU, however I have the newer version of the ATI6950 NON ATI Ref Design and I can't not find a full cover water block for them.

The Zotac is a Ref design and EK has a nice Full Block for the cards, So I can run ALL 3 of them in SLI and watercooled.

Not sure which mother board I am using yet, But I am leaning towards the Asus 990FX-ROG

What do you guys think will have better performance. I Don't plan on overclocking the zotac cards that much, just a little.

ATI cards will have to stay Air Cooled so Overclocking will be limited based on Temps.

    Your thoughts?

Ill be running 2 monitors.. I am currently running 3 using the eyefinity but I rarely use the 3rd monitor.
    2x 25" 1920x1080 LCD monitors.

Right now I have 3 set-up going from - DP to HDMI and 2x DVI to HDMI (HDMI end is the monitors)
I am running the ATI 6950 on the rig right now.. But on the new build I want to do a FULL watercooled system, Right now its H2O only on the CPU end using the corsair H70.

Thanks Doc - Ill make sure to read up on the Aug Giveaway.

Scratch the 470. It is a power hog and runs extremely hot. The 6950 is close to the 560...

They perform within 5% of each other at stock, with a slight edge going to the 6950.

The extra VRAM on the 6950 will help if you play above HD resolutions and/or like using modded texture packs and/or high levels of AA.

Do you guys think I should ditch the GTX 470's???

The only reason that I am even thinking about this is that the XFX 6950 I have right now Don't have full waterblock support. I have the Version 1 Ref and only the Ver 2 is supports. Danger Den also is the one of the few company thats makes a full waterblock also (at least from what I have found).

Plus I also have my 6950 flash to 6970.
