There is no difference between any X1900's, just buy whichever one is cheapest. ATI manufacturer ALL the cards, so they are all coming from the same place unlike Nvidia who make the chips but AIB's produce the boards.

    Is this your board? http://uk.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1...81&modelmenu=1

If so that'll work fine with an X1900 XT and CrossFire.

afaik CrossFire boards do work on there own, no probs there.

I've seen that article (not that i read THG) and for £80 it does look like a nice low cost CPU. I'd absolutely grab one of these because no matter how you feel right now, when Conroe comes out you'll want to scrap your current CPU. At least with this one its not a large cost outlay.

So I'd say grab one and overclock it.

no idea, not really had experience with either or read up on them. The main reason why they might overclock further is the smaller cache size, so it is possible. I guess if your hearing this in the right places, it may be true.

Just make sure whatever motherboard you get, it's Conroe ready: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=96989 if that's somthing you might be interested in.

Between July and September. July will bring the Core 2 Extreme chip and the E6700 2.67GHz, 4MB cache chip, while by September the entire range should be available.

It really is worth the wait, but i undertand not everyone has machines capable of playing the latest games like Oblivion right now, in which case waiting will be real tough. I'm already thinking of moving to SLI just for Oblivion on my personal rig, but will resist
