I saw this bench yesterday and was a little on the skeptical side. Another question that I have is, this article in its intirety has a picture showing two 7970's in cfx is that what the benchmarks are reflecting or is this a single card? If it is a single card AMD can go ahead and ship two to my door! Dont know how I am going to pay for them...... Actually a HD 7990 would be a better deal if pricing stays at what is speculated ($699), but I still do not know how I will pay for that!

Well I would say that that's some impressive performance from a single GPU card, now if only Santa could put one under the tree for me! The question I have is will you need a PCI-E 3.0 board to get full performance?

I dont belive that you need a pci 3.0 board to max your in game frame rates, I could be mistaken but I do not think that current games use the maximum bandwidth of pci 2.1.

Judging by these performance numbers (which, keep in mind, may not be true), definitely not. The GTX 590, which this card seems to be trading blows with, doesn't saturate 2.0.

It's the same situation with pretty much every new expansion card standard. The cards won't saturate the old standard until quite awhile from now.
There's nothing to see here, move along.

What I'm going to interested in with any of the 7X cards, Is, if there going to be rear exhaust
as some of the 6X cards had front and rear exhaust.

Cooler running cards as 28nm but don't want hot air in case.
Present cards exhaust out the back and want it that way.

No biggie but all adds up.
(If) could afford the 7990 hope don't have to do any more dremmeling as
    case is already Swiss cheeze.

Unless you have the world's worst case airflow (which I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you don't ), the extra heart added by the card won't make a noticeable difference.

I don't think there's much danger of that anyway. Blower style coolers have been in use for a very long time and will most likely stay in use.

Heat Freak here, as live where it gets pretty hot in the summer and don't like AC at all.

Reason for three Rads and maybe four when put the new card or cards in the loop.
