The thing is huge...actually down right the best looking video card I have ever seen...for those that bench ( which it doesnt seem like many now) I would think going sly or crossfire would be best..a slight increase in speed..but for gamers...This card is just great..REALLY silent even with fans on high...As a rule I have never liked a card that exhaust out of both ends but with this card it runs so cool it doesnt matter...I always liked my dual GPU 4870x2..This is the new world!!!!

I have always used afterburner software for the video card I was using..I thought I would try EVGA's Precision X software...I really like it..Not only is it well thought out but you can actually bench the card at your desired speed and see if it will crash before you do a benchmark run...took me a bit to figure it but once I did..its really nice software....

3Dmark 11 runs really nice...not much slower i would guess than 2 680's slyed up..The 7970 I have would do around 8700 at 5.0...Im not sure what 2 would do...The 690 will do 18,000 and I never raised the voltage of the 690 on any of these test..I clocked them up a bit but not so much as to need a voltage increase..

The only 2 test that the GTX 690 was sub par was 3DMark 06 and 05...for some reason, and this could be me not setting it right, it didnt take off like the other test...

My 7970 would do 36,000 at 3D06 and the 690 only 37,000...This could very well be a setting im not getting right....same for 05..only 500 points better than 44,000 with the 7970...

Default Re: EVGA GTX 690..a look at the money!!!

I change video cards alot...for a long time the ATI 5870 was always with me...then the GTX580 for awile...I have a new fave...Video cards are a real personal part of a PC..with this 690 the speed and lack of heat plus hardly no sound and the fact it is really beautiful makes it a easy pick...now the cost is just nuts..not sure i would or could pay it..BUT if I was going to get 2...7970's or ...680's..I for sure would...I have only been told 2 times they might want this back when I run a card...so far this has never happened...I dont think they can get this one back...Im not home...LOL
This is my first time with EVGA..I am so impressed by there card and software...just really great workmanship...

The 3D03 bench was a crush..I had 3 5870's that couldnt do this score...
