RMA'd my VisionTek 7970

I sent my VisonTek 7970 back to newegg for two reasons. First, the card they sent me isn't the card pictured on line. I got a non-reference design card with a blue PCB instead of the ref. design with a black PCB. Ticks me off newegg shows an item they don't actually carry anymore. Second, the card wasn't performing worth a damn. Lots of tearing and my system kept crashing with the card installed. Anyway, newegg is refunding all my money including shipping and is paying for return shipping too. Let's just say they got an ear full when I called to complain.

So, I will be in the market for another reference design 7970 with a black PCB as soon as my refund goes through. Any suggestions. Newegg does have the Diamond 7970 for about $400 and it comes with the new Crysis and Bioshock games. What do you guys think?

It does suck, but at least Newegg made it right by covering all the shipping and giving me a full refund. It's the least they could do considering all the money I've spent with them.

I do recall the card you are talking about. I'm just uncomfortable buying from a site where I don't know the members or admins.

I think there was a member on here selling an XFX 7970 Black Edition a couple of weeks ago. And if memory serves, he is a friend of James's. Anyone remember his post?
