Default Can Dual $269 Nvidia GTX 760s Outperform A $999 Titan?

Crunching The Numbers: Can Dual $269 Nvidia GTX 760s Outperform A $999 Titan? - Forbes

Earlier this year I evaluated the performance of two GTX 650 Ti Boosts from PNY versus a single GTX 680. The results showed a slight edge in favor of the dual 650 Ti Boosts for approximately $130 less. Spoiler alert: The performance gains with two of NVIDIA’s new 760 GPUs running in SLI versus a single GTX 780 are more significant, and the savings even deeper.

Before we dive in and crunch some numbers, let’s examine the primary hardware in play for this test:

    • 2x MSI GTX 760s (Known properly as “N760 TF 25GD5/OC”)
    • NVIDIA GTX 760 Reference Card
    • NVIDIA GTX 780 Reference Card
    • NVIDIA GTX Titan Reference Card

All cards were benchmarked on the following system:

    • MSI Z77A-G45 Motherboard
    • Intel INTC +1.21% Core i7-3770K CPU
    • 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
    • 120GB Kingston V300 SSD

That's for the post! This is the type of stuff I'm interested in. You can't be real numbers and for half the price of a titan you beat and not by a little but by a lot. I am impressed. Glad I plan on replacing my cards with 760's in a SLI config

Seriously. Anyone that buys a Titan has to know they're buying it for novelty.

Current configs that outpace Titan around the 1000 USD mark:

    SLI 780 (1300 USD) ~70% more performance
    Single 690 (1000 USD) ~20% more performance
    SLI 770 (800 USD) ~ 35% more performance

Configs that outpace Titan for significantly less:

    SLI 760 (550 USD) ~ 20% more performance
SLI 680 (600 USD used) ~25% more performance
SLI 670 (500 USD used) ~20% more performance

I'd almost best 660TI in SLI would produce respectable numbers up against Titan, as well.

Kevin, Keep an eye out on TechPower Up, overclock.net and hard forums. Allot of members have been selling.
I picked up a 3rd matching GTX670 (with 680 PC like my other 2 for tri SLI.

I got a real good deal on mine.
I think Stan also had one he was trying to sell, maybe contact him.

Default Re: Can Dual $269 Nvidia GTX 760s Outperform A $999 Titan?

Kevin, the Z77 system with the 2700K was sold with Dual HD7790s, like I explained, I have to use the GTX670 in the custom build I'm doing for Gigabyte, but I have to find someone to paint the Lain Li case that Digital Storm made a mess of. Hey Kenny, is your offer still good to have your friend paint the case ?
