It has to do with performance, the 780 and 780 OC cards are very hard to beat, especially from a price vs performance view point. Besides, try finding a 7990, only the powercolor card hit the shelves, I've never seen another card listed for sale.

There are quite a few on newegg right now Stan.
Price ranging from $629 AMIR - to $799

From Power Color to XFX.. its not that hard to get unless they start to sell out now due to the price.

The Asus Ares Is a 7990 but for some reason isnt called a 7990 so you wont find it under that catagory but its been for sale for a while.

AverageNinja I dont think it has to do with sales are bad. It has to do with what stan said and most people are expecting a new AMD series rollout soon. When that happens people stop buying and hold off for whatever is new so companies do a price drop to spur buying and clearing inventories. Happens every product cycle. Nothing new. I would expect to see drops on 7970 and 7950s very soon. Those sell really well already so they will hold off until the last minute for price drops so they dont hurt revenue.

They must be selling them pretty quick then decided to mark up the price up again.
