Welcome to the forums! It's a good start for us to suggest some things, certainly.

    1. I see that you are currently only equipped with 2GB of RAM. At some point you will need to be running 8GB at the very least, so I might consider that as your next upgrade on account of modern games requiring more and more system memory to function properly.

    2. As for a video card in the 300 dollar price range, I might wait until the new AMD card officially go on sale. What will happen is not only will you be able to see what local and other e-tailers are pricing them at, but you can also watch for price drops in the nVidia cards as well.

IF the need is more pressing, then presently you can't go wrong with a 7970 Ghz edition card, which will essentially be an R9 280X with a bit less clock speed. Having run the numbers through a known good PSU calculator, your current config will support the 7970 Ghz edition card no problem. From the nVidia camp, in that price range the best value card to consider at present is the GTX 760, which depending on the model will perform as well as (if not better than) a GTX 670 with a bit better power consumption.

When listing your hardware here, be sure to include any optical drives you may have equipped and how many case fans you have. Their wattage is of little consequence on their own, but all together it CAN make something of a difference since you don't want to tax your PSU TOO much.

Welcome to PurOC FearViper!! Ive got to say go Gigabyte 7970 OC 3GB which happens to be $279.99 after rebate...309.99 before. Like Mgutierrez33 said, i would try and upgrade to at least 8GB of memory as well very soon.

Welcome to PureOC FearViper, this is a good time to buy a video card since the new stuff is coming out now. Many really good cards can be had for less money within the next week or so.

Spend a little less on the video card and boost the system's memory first. You'll be glad that you did,.......

i am only able to echo previous advice.
MINIMUM 8 gigs of ram. anything less and it's not even worth having. the fewer sticks the better

while the AMD grafix cards are ok for most i know nothing about them.
BUT the nvidia 600 series is going out because of being obselet and therfor some GREAT deals on newegg
    i say go that route

this is your MB manufactures said specs
    https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P7...specifications
as your not ready to over clock i would sugest going with one of these 2 options
    Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Memory, Desktop Memory, 4GB (4 x 1G, 8GB (4 x 2G, DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600), DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666), DDR3 1333 (PC3 10...

    as for video cards
this will be a "starter card" any thing less is not worth having. most people will disagree, but thats my UNhumble and loud opinion.
    ZOTAC ZT-60901-10M GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Newegg.com

    so, the 4 sticks of 2gig + the card = 300, plus tax& shipping

but be warned. once you get the feel of what it is to upgrade, you will be addicted.

    overclocking is never "safe"
with that said this is where you can learn to do it as safely as possible, with the best results that you WILL be happy with
    but thats a different post

for now we need to get u doing as good as possible with what you have

your PSU, what exact model is it?
that will let us know if it has the connector needed for a good grafix card

    look at this link
COOLER MASTER Extreme 2 RS-525-PCAR 525W ATX 12V V2.3 Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready - Newegg.com

    what i want u 2 c is the line whare it says "PCI-Express Connector1 x 6+2-Pin"
that tells u it can do 1 video card

now find the specs for your CM CPU, and there you should be able to find out if it has a "6 Pin Power Connector" for a card
if you want to run 2x cardz u will need a new PSU, but u may be able to do well with what u have
sticking with the 300 $ limit your not going to be able to get a good ram boost, a card, and a psu to
thats asking to much hardware out of to few duckiez

Hey Viper, wait until the new AMD R9 270 or 280X cards are released, which should be this month, it's worth the wait. By the way, Welcome to Pure OC !

You're PSU will not handle any of those high end cards. You only have 1 6 pin connector and those cards will require at least one 8 pin and one 6 pin. You could use adapters, but I'd recommend upping the PSU, but upping the RAM, as the others have said, should be a higher priorotiy. Check out the Nvidia 650 ti boost cards. I think they'd be perfect for your system, and you'll have budget to spare for upgrades down the road. You'll definitely need a higher end PSU for higher end graphics. Here's some links to some good cards.

    Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-N65TBOC-2GD GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

Newegg.com - ASUS GTX650TIB-DC2OC-2GD5 GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

    Newegg.com - MSI N650TI TF 2GD5/OC BE GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card

Firstly, I have read all the posts and I decided to upgrade my PSU and ram (8Gb) and wait for new amd cards to come out.

Secondly, I like to thank all of you guys for taking your time and advising me on my matter tbh this pc stuff is new to me i only used consoles to play games. I never imagined that pc can be so complicated but after using this website and its forums (awesome community) i have to say i learned a few things about pc and pc is interesting as calemus said "once you get the feel of what it is to upgrade, you will be addicted."

Lastly, Any advices or suggestion you have about my decision would be much appreciated and what I should do about this thread should i delete or it or keep it running?
