Default Radeon R9 290X listed at Newegg

Earlier today a Nordic retailer leaked specifications and pricing on the Radeon R9 290X, the Battlefield 4 edition that is. NewEgg jumped the gun as well and is listing the Radeon R9 290X. Interestingly enough, the price is much lower then what the Nordic website lists, as you may purchase the product in pre-order for 729.99 USD.

Newegg always list the price a little different, so it is now pretty safe to assume that the Radeon R9 290X pricing will be set at 699 USD. I really want to give props to TPU for discovering this methodology as the price simply was hidden in the HTML code of NewEgg.

BTW it seems that all pre-orders are based on the Battlefield 4 edition, thus you'll be receiving the game with all extension packs and DLC.

Tee. no matter what, I still very much doubt that the 290x will be a $500 GPU, especially if the info was write on it performing better than a GTX780 and the Titan

It would be great if it was only $500, and AMD would make a killing, but I really do not believe it's going to be that cheap, I guess we'll know once reviews on the 290X are released. If the $350 price is correct for the 280X, then you would defiantly be better off buying two of them, rather than a single 290X

They really ~would~ make a killing at the $500.00 price point, and that's just what they need right now. Probably too many corporate bean counters looking for the maximum profit possible for this to be feasable.

Pre order price means nothing. Amazon had stuff listed on there 3 time as much as release price. I am holding to 500-599!

Does this GPU beat the GTX 780? I have the GTX 680 and have loved every ounce of it, but is it necessary to upgrade to the AMD camp NOW being that this GPU is going to be released soon? Looks like a very nice card and could be at a very competitive price.

Here's what i found on AMD Gaming facebook page quote:AMD Gaming
In celebration of the upcoming launches of two of the most important announcements in PC gaming this year, we’ve worked with EA to create the AMD Radeon R9 290X Battlefield 4 Limited Edition available, online for reservation starting today with select resellers and partners. There were only 8,000 of these made so make sure to add your name to the list before they’re all gone! Recommended AMD Radeon R9 290X pricing, specs and performance will be unveiled in the coming weeks. We haven’t released pricing and won’t comment on pricing seen on some e-tail outlets..
You'll never be perfect but you can be original
