Default SLI issues, seeing if anyone else out there is having the same issue

Hey so one of my friends is having an issue with their rig. They just got their girlfriend an MSI GTX 760 Gaming card, and he took her galaxy GTX 560 and is now SLI'ing the card with his card, which is the exact same card. Neither one has ever been overclocked. WHen running his cards in SLI, he will encounter issues with certain games (AC Black Flag, Guild Wars 2, and FFXIV ARR) in which the game will close to desktop and create dump files. Either card by itself works just fine in either computer they have. His rig uses an LGA 1155 board (brand and model unknown) with a stock clocked i5 2500K, 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LP blue RAM (1600 MHz, stock voltages and timings) and a 750W Enermax PSU. The computer runs WIndows 7 Ultimate. I am aware that nVidia has a new-ish beta driver out specifically for Black Flag and it's SLI issues, but has anyone else out there had a similar issue recently? He has yet to install this beta driver or attempt to disable PhysX so I don't know if those will work just yet. He has also done a fresh install of the most recent certified driver. Something interesting to note is that when he did the fresh driver install WITHOUT Geforce Experience, the system ran fine. Once he installed Geforce Experience, everything went to crap.

    Any thoughts?

Geforce Experiance is not worth the experiance. (yuk-yuk)

    I don't use it either.

We need more info on the board he's using. Is the PCI-E slot (that the second card is in) a X16, X8, or X4 speed? X16 or X8 would be good,.....X4 would not be so good.
