Default What is the average temp for a card?

I would like to know what the normal temp for a card on air is? My ASUS GTX 580DUII runs 30c.-35c In normal use. But wen I play BF-4. It run's around 50c -62c at fan speed set to 50. And my card set to high.

Default Re: What is the average temp for a card?

Well average temps for cards will vary based on the core being used and the cooler it's installed with. Typically the 500 series of cards (Fermi) is going to run at a maximum of around 80-ish degrees C (at least in my experience). I have a 560 in my rig and it never climbs over 75 with a custom fan curve that keeps it quiet AND cool. Your temps are actually quite good, but a lot of that has to do with the DCUII cooler that Asus uses. One of the best in the business. You MIGHT be able to drop them a TINY bit lower if you were to remove the heat sink, polish the base and apply some good thermal paste, but probably not much. Water cooling or the Arctic cooling heat sink are your only other safe bets apart from watercooling.

Jim those temps are not bad at all for that model. The 66ti I had could hit 76c when OC and being pounded by Unigine Heaven. Never stuttered or shown signs of failing.

Anything below 75c is usually fine, when it gets to around 80 thats when you should change your thermalpaste.
