Default Best After Market Air Cooler IYO

I'm planning out my next GPU purchase this November and I plan on getting the best air can offer. Liquid just isn't an option yet until I can get more cash and time together. That being said, the MSI Twin Frozer and Sapphire VaporX (AMD only) seem to be top performers. That is until I saw a review for the HIS IceQ2. That seems to be the best air cooler I can find atm. The Gigabyte Windforce used to be up there but has seemed to lag a little behind in recent releases. This is just my preliminary thoughts. From your guys' experience, what do you think is the best of the best?

In my opinion, it's a dead heat between the Twin Frozr and Windforce 3.

    Always look beyond the limits...

Sapphire doesn't do nVidia.....so that kills the Vapor-X....

The MSI Twin Frozr is excellent, significantlt better than the Windforce on the like boards I have, which are 280X, GTX 760 and GTX 750 Ti. However, the Windforce on the GTX 780 GHz Edition was very, very good.

The other consideration is the PCB these coolers are sitting on. My Gigabyte cards have not kept up with my ASUS, EVGA and MSI cards. Even the GTX 780 GHz Edition can't OC with my reference board.

Look at the newly released NVIDIA GTX-970. It's cool running and fast as hell.

Not sure I'm going to spend $300 + yet. I like it a ton, but honestly, if AMD price slashes hard enough, I'm going to go a bit cheaper with my 8350 chip and wait till I can do a better system wide upgrade before getting high end graphics (2016/17). Even if I do opt for the 970, I want as much overclocking potential as I can get because that will be my next step before heading into liquid cooling.
